I am just saying that is what will happen and when that is done, they can move on to making good Spiderman movies again.

But who knows maybe Harry is some kind of whole new villain. Not like his Dad and not like the others mentioned above.

While it may be just me, the scene where you first saw the 'prototype' combat suit reminded me so much of the Scorpion that I wondered if they were going to write him into the first movie.

Admittedly, after the first 3 seconds it was obviously different, but it was a prototype after all.

My vote is for the Scorpion, even though Doc Oc was probably my fav....

Let's face it, it could be any exsisting enemy of spiderman or a new one,
and until they announce the next film we ain't going to know.

possible titles if phlub's theory is correct

Spiderman 2: the son of the green goblin
Spiderman 2: Revenge of the green goblin
Spiderman 2: return of the green goblin

or they could have it the other way

the son of the green goblin:Spiderman 2

More like Spiderman 2: Revenge

Also my vote if they were to go with a real villain for SM2 would be Dr. Octopus.

Last time I heard anything about the cast for the Amazing Spider-Man, they said that Doc Oc and the Lizard (Bruce Campbell) were supposed to be the new villains, but it seems that information has changed...

I want the Scorpion, for God's sake!

I still think and hope my theory of Harry Osbourne being the next baddy, possibly in the form of one of the afformentioned villains (which would really mutilate the villians individual stories of how they came to be, and therefore cheapen the series) in the poll.

But I think if they do him as the next villain that he will be a whole new villain, but with Stan Lee over seeing the production of the new villain of course could work!

If they fiddle around with the original stories and end up making Harry Osborne the Hobgoblin (just so he sort of follows in daddy's footsteps), well, that'll pretty much kill the whole movie franchise for me...

It would degrade from it from the quality of the series.

But that would be about the only way to do it if you think about it.

I dunno. Maybe they could pull it off. I guess it depends on whether or not it would end up looking like an exact copy of the first film.

I have to say, as much as I'm looking forward to The Amazing Spider-Man, I haven't got much faith in sequels in general...

Good sequels have been tough to come by.

But in the sci-fi realm, good sequels are everywhere, Predator 2, Star Wars, Terminator 2 and Aliens.

So have a little faith.

I guess I was thinking more of films like MIB2 and the whole Star Wars prequel mess. But, you're right. Those are some pretty good ones you've mentioned.

My faith has been restored....for awhile, anyway....

Like I said. Sci-Fi produces some of the best sequels in the movie making industry.

And the Prequels for SW I think are underrated.

But I look forward to The Amazing Spiderman! with high hopes.

Well, looks like the speculation is over. Yahoo is reporting that Alfred Molina, of "Frida" fame, is going to be Doc Ock. Theyre looking to rollout the flick in Spring of '04. Here's the link:

Thoughts on this selection?
