Venom would be the coolest. Then, we'd most likely get to see Carnage later on....yay!

Re: Who Should Be The Next Baddie?

i dunno. carnage doesnt seem to be the most known bad guy, and he would just seem like a venom rip off. they coulda used kingpin, but no, thats already been used in daredevil.

Re: Who Should Be The Next Baddie?

Well, kingpin sucked anyway. Nah man, Carnage is my favorite spidey enemy, besides Venom. What sux is that the Green Goblin is gonna be back again. Geez, they shouldve put the hob goblin in, i mean, Normand was the hob goblin, and at least that would be some variation. I dont want to see the same enemy twice.

Re: Who Should Be The Next Baddie?

I had the whole goblin/hobgoblin thing explained to me the other day, and it sounds confusing and comic-book-plot-padding to me : Norman Osbourne was the Green Goblin, but he was defeated. A criminal found his equipment and called himself The Green Goblin, but he was defeated too. Another criminal found his equipment and called himself the Hobgoblin, but he was defeated too. Then Norman Osbourne's son found his equipment (and why the hell did he leave it lying around for any idiot to find anyway?!) and called himself The Green Goblin.

I may have missed out a Green Goblin or two.

Maybe some spoilers for Spider-Man 2 so read with caution if you are one of the three people who haven't seen it yet.

Read a few weeks ago that Sam Rami is considering not even making Harry Osbourne a true villian in the third film, but is considering some kind of conflicted pal, maybe side-kick to Spiderman trying to undo the sins of his father (all those sins he managed to rack up in the fifteen minuts of badness he had in the first film).

I liked the second film but found his tampering with the original and established story line concerning Mary Jane and Doc Ock too much. Giving Spidey a goblinesque side-kick would be too much. It's bad enough that he's going to have a live in girlfriend who knows who he is (along with Harry and everyone on the subway train). As for as Ock, let's see, he tore up 1 train and robbed 1 bank. Apart from ripping a few doctors to shreds (the best scene in the film), he really wasn't that bad.

Based on what was in Spiderman 2 there are two villians that will likely appear in Spiderman 3. Since Harry found his father's Green Goblin equipment it is likely that he will become the Green Goblin now. Also, since Dr. Connors was introduced in Spiderman 2 as Peter Parker's science Professor it is very likely that The Lizard will appear in Spiderman 3

Wait a minute. I thought the Hobgoblin was the follow up for Green Goblin. I could have sworn that Harry became the Hobgoblin.

Re: Who Should Be The Next Baddie?

I think Flash was in a goblin suit at one time, under spell or such.

A guy named Ned Leeds was a Hobgoblin, as was some other guy I can't remember. There was some mixup in continuity on who exactly was the REAL hobgoblin. Still messy.

Phil Urich, son/nephew of Ben Urich (played by Joe Pantoliano in DAREDEVIL), was a Green Goblin, and a good natured super-hero one to boot. Which might be the buddy super-hero angle team up.

Harry never took up the Hobgoblin mantle, the Green one sure, but not the Hobby.

Re: Who Should Be The Next Baddie?

In the comics, Harry did take up the Green Goblin costume, both as a villain and as a sort of "hero", trying to mend his father's errors.

Spidey was opposed to this and they ended up fighting, as Harry was too irresponsible when heroing about.

The best Hobgoblin, and the one most known, is Jason Macendale, the merc that takes over Ned Leeds. He becomes even cooler when possessed by a daemon (who later splits from him and becomes Demogoblin) and thinks himself a savior sent to do God's work.

I love this idea. A mad daemon possessing a merc's body who thinks he's working for God and all that's holy.

Of course, he was no less violent or evil for it. It was only his motivation that was different.

That would be an interesting angle to take, but it's way too complicated for a single movie.

I'm thinking the Lizard would be a good choice, with Hobgoblin as a secondary villain.
