Re: short spaceballs comment

Plenty, but how many of them have become as well known & popular as 'Spaceballs'? & the answer would probably be not that many at all, infact I can't think of any myself!

Re: short spaceballs comment

There's a movie I bid on at eBay called Mutant on the Bounty. No idea what it's about, but I can't resist a dirt-cheap 2md hand scifi movie, especially one that's (supposed to be) a comedy.

I'll let you know if it was worth my bringing it up.

There was also a short film called Hardware Wars, that was actually pretty funny. It was only about 15 min. long.

Cool Re: short spaceballs comment

there are plenty of other sci fi spoofs, but Spaceballs is the one that most people think of [even more than Galaxy Quest] thats the only reason I feel that my friend {HD}black^mage & I can get our script for SPACEBALLS EPISODE II: THE SEARCH FOR MORE MONEY produced, even if we have the worst producer in the world. But wit the message in mind SPACEBALLS RULES!

Heck I'd take Spaceballs over Galaxy Quest any day.. It's hilarious the way they rip on Star Wars the whole time.. And still have enough originality to make a decent/fresh movie.

Re: short spaceballs comment

There was that troopers thing. It was a 10 minute parody of cops featuring storm troopers. I remember it was extremly funny. It explained how the farm was destroyed in Episode 4.

Re: short spaceballs comment

Right. I found Mutant on the Bounty at a carboot sale and instantly bought it, thinking of this thread. I've watched half of it, but I can't really get around to watching the other half. It's not funny. It's not boring, it's just ... not funny.

I'll tell you what is funny though - a short called Trooper Clerks. basically, it's a 'trailer' for a 'movie' of Clerks set on the Deathstar - there's also a Flash/Shockwave/whatever-it's-called cartoon, very funny if you like Star Wars and Kevin Smith movies ...
