The Space Jockey’s Homeworld & Solar System Thread

This post is what I think the Space Jockey’s Home World & Solar System are like. As in my prior post about the ALIENS home planet & solar system I will give a lot of information about the Space Jockey’s Home World only. The rest of the Space Jockey’s home solar system I’ll try to give brief basic summaries. It should be noted that there are scattered small asteroid fields between planets in the SJ’s solar system. Here are the descriptions of what I think the Space Jockey’s Home World & Solar System are like>

The Space Jockey’s Homeworld’s Sun
The Space Jockey Homeworld’s sun is a K-class main sequence orange dwarf star of slightly less mass than Earth’s Sun. It is a somewhat uncharismatic garden variety star.

Planet I
The first planet in the Space Jockey Homeworld’s solar system is a gas planet less massive than Jupiter but only slightly smaller in size. It is a “hot Jupiter” class of gas giant. This planet orbits it’s sun considerably closer than Mercury does our Sun in our solar system. Number of moons: 2

Planet II: The second planet’s fifth moon is the Space Jockey Home World

The second planet is a gas giant in the mass & size range of Neptune. Planet 2 has 8 very large moons & a few smaller ones which are mostly captured asteroids. These planet sized moons range in size from 75% the size of Mercury to larger than Earth. 5 of these planet sized moons have deep cloud decks. The 5th moon out is the Space Jockey Homeworld. It is a world roughly the size & mass of Venus. The Space Jockey Homeworld takes 20 Earth days to orbit Planet II once.

The Space Jockey Homeworld rotates once in about 40 Earth hours & has a surface gravity of 97% of Earth’s. Weather & temperatures are relatively “normal”. The Space Jockeys possess a very high technological civilization. The Space Jockeys excel in biomechanics & applied biophysics as is evident in their technology [ie: their biomechanical boneships]. There are huge ship depots in orbit around their homeworld & it’s sibling moons as well & all throughout their solar system. The Space Jockeys have scattered bases & settlements throughout their solar system. The Space Jockeys are a 3-sex species [male, female, & a 3rd gender].

The Space Jockeys are excellent explorers & zoologists. A belt of large US state sized asteroids which orbit their sun at the far edge of the SJ’s solar system have been converted by the SJ’s into Exozoological Receiving Facilities. The 2nd moon out from Planet II has a huge well made zoo & safari of creatures [ie: the ALIENS] from all the various planets, moons, etc the SJ’s have explored beyond their solar system. The SJ home world itself is well guarded & protected against any potential invasion or contamination by alien life. The second planet takes about 250 Earth days to orbit it’s sun once. Planet 2 lies about 80% of the Earth-Sun distance [an AU] from it’s sun. The second planet takes 35 Earth hours to rotate once.

Planet III
This planet is a gas planet significantly more massive & larger than Jupiter is. Planet 3’s moon is a gas giant in the size & mass range of Saturn. The third planet & it’s moon are essentially a gas planet version of the Earth/Moon system in our solar system. Planet III’s gas giant moon orbits planet 3 in a gravitationally locked captured rotation. Like our Moon, the 3rd planet’s gas giant satellite has only one side of it facing planet III as it orbits it. It should be mentioned that both the third planet & it’s gas giant moon have moon systems orbiting them. This is interesting because this means planet III’s moon has moons of it’s own.

Planet IV
The fourth planet is a gas giant planet in between the mass/size of Saturn & Jupiter in our solar system. Planet 4 has 14 moons, a few planet sized & with thick atmospheres.

Planet V
Planet 5 is a binary gas planet system. Planet V-A is a gas giant 70% the size of Uranus & planet V-B is a gas planet 80% the size of Neptune. They orbit each other around a common center of gravity as both circle their sun. This double planet system has a small number of moons which orbit both planets in very weird orbits.

Planet VI
The 6th planet is a gas giant of 4 Jupiter masses & of larger size than Jupiter. This planet has 20 moons.

Planet VII
The seventh planet is a gas planet of only 9 Earth masses. It has 3 moons.

Planet VIII
Planet 8 is a gas giant of 2 Saturn masses & about 3 times Saturn’s size. It has 10 moons.

Planet IX
The ninth & last planet is a gas planet of 1.5 Neptune masses & only slightly larger than Neptune is. It has 1 very large moon.

On the outer fringes of the Space Jockey’s solar system are a huge belt of thousands of US state sized asteroids & inactive comets. These have been converted by the Space Jockeys into bases & ship depots & receiving facilities & research colonies. This debris belt lies much further from its sun than does the Pluto/Charon double Trans-Neptunian Object System lies from our Sun in our solar system. It takes this debris belt 3,500 Earth years to orbit the Space Jockey’s sun once.

What do you think of this post which is my take & ideas on the Space Jockey’s home world & solar system?

Re: The Space Jockey’s Homeworld & Solar System Thread

Yeah, you've obviously done a lot of thinkng about this, but one could ask why?

Way too serious. But you'll never find out unless someone makes a rather ill-advised film incorporating the SJ's origins, and then it wouldn't be what you've come up with.

Interesting, but ultimately pointless I fear....

Actually the space jockey is obviously the whole reason for the alien species.
who has actually read all the books??

Just wondering

The SJ had obvious signs of being chestbursted, what would the alien look like that had used that thing for a host? Elephantitis anybody?
