Red face Re: What’s your favorite SW spoof?

Thought this would make a good thread to start my dull Monday off…

Has anyone checked out the list of SW fanfilms over at Ifilm.com. oK I was clueless that there were so many. If you asked me I would have said like a dozen but 40+,

So what’s everyone’s favorite?

Hardware Wars, of course. I also thought the Star Wars bit in the Nutty Professor II was quite funny.

Agreed. Kevin Rubio is a Goddamned genius. As far as spoofs go, I'd say:

1- Spaceballs
2- Troops (Rubio's baby)
3- Tag & Bink are dead (Comic series. By Kevin Rubio too. If you liked Troops, you'll love this...)

Wink Hardware Wars - I agree

I’m with HighWiredSith, Hardware Wars is the all-time best and most original, yadayada… Just orderd the dvd and can’t wait to see it again. The new movie contains extras and added scenes. Spaceballs comes second up for my tastes although I think Mel Brookes is Genius. I use to hang out by his beach house in Robins Rest on Fire Island just to try to catch a glimpse of him. (I know - weird)

I am more subdued now. *grin*NOT

Is anyone old enough to remember the early days of cable television, when you had 20 channels and, if you were lucky, Showtime and HBO? Anyway, Showtime was nothing but movies all day long and to fill in the spaces so the movies always started on the hour (example, move one ends at 1:42 and they don't want to start movie two until 2:00) they would show what they called Showtime Shorts, these quirky little short films and mini documentaries. Hardware Wars was a Showtime Short, the original Star Wars spoof.

I also thought Toy Story 2's tribute/spoof of Star Wars was very cool.

I love spaceballs. Any other spoof is just silly. Wait a minute ...

Hardware Wars, Spaceballs, and definately Troops however, have you seen Thumbwars: The Phantom Cuticle? This Steve Odekirk flick was hillarious, he also did one called The Blair Thumb.

Remember it was on Creature Features too

Yeah and remember Creature Features? I think that’s what it was called. Where that guy with the BIG glasses that took up half of his face hosted strange late night flicks. He had Fossellious (sp) on his show once, talking up all the merchandise from Hardware Wars even though the movie wasn’t even madeyet/ That was hysterical.
