My wife and I saw this at the theater and found it highly entertaining. I'm perplexed about a line I distinctly remember in the theater. Right after they land on the asteroid, Rockhound explains why they don't have a radio while Sharp tries to figure it out. Sharp asks, "How can you know that?" and Rockhound replies, "'Cause I'm a F***in' genious!" I thought Buscemi's delivery was fantastic and laughed out loud at the line.
When the film comes out on video, the line is different. He simply says, "'Cause I'm a genious." It's the same on the dvd and the criterion dvd. The line isn't contained in the deleted scenes or the gag reel on the criterion dvd. I was highly disappointed because I thought it was one of the funniest lines in the movie. Does anyone else remember the line from the theater or know why it was changed? Thanks. Bill |

Re: Phantom Buscemi Line ??
I don't know if u see this, but I heard this line too. I was in the middle east, in Palestine, and they had a pirate TV station that would show the latest movies. Their copy had the "I'm a ****ing genius" version. I think it's becasue they could have recorded it from the Cinema, though. I hope this helps.

Re: Phantom Buscemi Line ??
maybe u bought an edited one? probly not though... another line that involves the f word that always makes me burst out laughing is in terminator where reese is being interrogated and the doctor says some thing like "so this time travel machinery that u guys discovered cant be turned on blah blah blah, then reese yells, i don't know i didn't build the f.ucking thing!"
that always puts a smile on my face ![]() |
