I was pleasantly surprised with the ideas expressed in this movie.Although it could have been a hell of a lot better(cinematography, sound, script)the special effects and implications executed were mind-blowing.I love seeing movies that try to explain the meaning of life...unfortunately the Americanization was appalling..GET RID OF THE DUMB ROMANCE it just ruined everything!!!
Pity this director hadn't taken more care with this movie. And for the guys-the scene where the astronaut is ripped to shreads in the sandstorm REALLY turns your stomach.
They should do a remake in about 50 years when they can actually film on Mars and have come to realize that dodgy scripts and Americana just doesn't work.It needed humanism!!!
Oh my god!!they actually included the face on Mars!!Guys ,do heaps of research on this phenomenon because I'm amazed the U.S goverment actually allowed the material to be released in a movie!!

Face on Mars, yeah. I think if you check back issues of The National Enquirer or The Weekly World News you can find a lot of information on this martian face, along with some interesting articles on the bat boy, the three legged skater, Liz Taylor's romance with the alien, and how to avoid male baldness using chia pet seeds......
