Who voted no? I'll use the Schwartz and turn them into a soprano!

I loved this movie. And that's all I need to say!

Spaceballs --- a unique film.. One of Mr Brooks's more successful spoofs. Did you say someone didn't like this?

Re: Spaceballs: The Poll

I like a few gags in the film, but not the film as a whole. This would have made a better Saturday Night Live sketch than a feature film. Most of my comments about the film is that I seriously doubt there will ever be a sequel. I know a few fans would like one. However, you must realize that "Spaceballs" was a financial failure at the box office. There is very little, if any, chance that a director or producer will want to risks millions of dollars on a sequel of a film that was not a financial success. Don't count on Mel Brooks wanting to redo "Spaceballs". He is too busy enjoying the great success of the Broadway musical verison of his classic comedy film "The Producers". "The Producers" is a great success. It has won several Tony awards and running on Broadway. So, fans of "Spaceballs" don't expect a sequel anytime soon, if ever. Enjoy the film as it is.

Spaceballs doesen't have to be made by the same exact person I don't think. I realize spoofs haven't been good lately, but I think this has enough inspiration that it would have to try to be unfunny.

The schwartz is strong in all of us but one. This is probably a comedic/parody masterpiec in my mind. Probably wasn't one part I didn't laugh.

Re: Spaceballs: The Poll

Can't they take into consideration the video and memrobilia sales? It blows me away that films are not judged by what they are, but by how much money they rake in. It's very sad in my mind.

And nothing is sad in there.

Re: Spaceballs: The Poll

Actually, potential profitability is a very valid yardstick for sequel-worthiness. The already-made film is not judged by such things, but an unmade sequel is. Hey pal, thats Capitolism for you.

Of course I voted yes. I could't imagine my life without Spaceballs. To this day, I hum the "Dink dink" song.
