I Saw Minority Report!
I saw Minority Report, I saw Minority Report!!!
One word - wow! Okay, two words, wow, wow! New top ten list coming soon. Not sure if it outdoes Dark City or Blade Runner but man is this an impressive film. I have to see it again. Tom Cruise was great (did I say that?). The supporting cast was excellent, especially the bad guy, Colin Farrell. The visual experience alone makes this film. Here, a short four weeks later, we have a film that is in every possible way is the visual superior to Attack of the Clones. What a great time for science fiction, with so many excellent films coming soon, and a few already in the can. Frankly, I think anything coming out in the next couple of years, Matrix and Terminator sequels included, will have a difficult time besting this film. BTW, if you hated A.I. you will love Minority Report. On the other hand, if you loved A.I., you will love Minority Report. It's that good. Plus they have the same kind of cars, those one wheel in the back kind of cruisers. |

Re: I Saw Minority Report!
Well if a movie can move up HWS's list like that then it ought to be a good thing. However, I'm kinda expecting a action SF. Anything really thought provoking (don't say it!) or perhaps good developed characters with twists? Well, I say the little rumour of a Minority Report game, and it suppose to be "fun". Hmph. I just hope it is good or I will seriously be weary of your opinions of films in the future.

Re: I Saw Minority Report!
I saw the preview for this movie and I consider it to be a must-see. Influenced greatly by my fellow pilots here at SciFlicks, and under my own assumption that the movie should be really good. In advanced, I oredict two thumbs up and 9/10 stars, leaving that extra star incase there was something I didn't like.

Re: I Saw Minority Report!
So, has anyone seen it yet? Wanting opinions here. I have this bad habit of letting a film blow me away on visual qualities alone. When a filmmaker wows me with amazing sets, scenery, and yes, even special effects, I often overlook even the most obvious plot and acting shortcomings. It usually takes multiple viewings for me to see the reali qualities in a film. I thought Minority Report was an amazing film. But I thought A.I. was too, mainly becuase it was amazing to look at.

I SAW IT!!!
Now, people who have seen it... *glares at people who haven't seen it yet and are listening.* there is a spolier coming up, y'know? *people who haven't seen it run off*...when we get to the part when Anderton was gonna kill Leo Crow I thought it was going to be brilliant. Then when I saw Crow kill himself to look like Anderton did it I...well, I thought that if Anderton killed him deliberatly it would be better! They could of ended the movie like that. Maybe. It would be shorter with all the clues about Anne Lively drowning ect. won't be there. The film would be like a futuristic Se7en rip-off though but it would still be very good. Does anyone else agree? And also, i found the ending, um, "too happy"...if someone saw that ending they wouldn't think it was a SciFi movie. Apparently Spielberg cut out a subtitle saying "614 people died after PreCrime was closed down" or something. When I read about it I wasn't quite sure why the film would be better if it was left in. Now that i've seen it and that crap ending i realised it would be sooooo much better with that line in! But i thought it was good apart from those bits. |

Re: I Saw Minority Report!
i think it was a great ending. there were so many ups and downs and changes in the story i think that the viewer liked the happy ending. another think u gotta remember is that this film is geared for all movie goers, not just die hard sci flickers
, just like the matrix, they added the happy ending just to make people feel happy when they leave the theaters. there was enough sad stuff in the movie however, the fact how they used the knowledge that his son was kidnapped, and in the end, you never find out what actually happened to his son was kinda sad, and i was kinda upset when that cop was shot by the old guy. i was also sad when they didn't use a hotter girl for the phsyicik.was it just me or did that really creep you out when anderton says that that doctor used to light his patients on fire and video tape them? that and when the old guy puts on the hat gave me the creeps. |

Re: I Saw Minority Report!
I didn't think it was that great. It was a great looking, clever remake of THE FUGITIVE.

I saw Minority Report!!!
It was ... ok. Just ok. I found it a bit hard to get into, but I loved all the little technological advances. And the big ones. It was a bit boring at first, but it got better when Anderton went on the run. I wouldn't call it Speilberg's best, or even recent best ... but it was ok. Good acting, though ![]() |
