SPACEBALLS Episode II: The Search for more money

Greetings followers of the Schwartz! A friend & I are writing a script to Spaceballs Episode II: The Search for More Money. It is in the works right now, & will hopefully be done by the summer of 2003. If anybody knows how to get a copy of my script to Metro Goldwyn Mayer, please send a reply., & MAY THE SCHWARTZ BE WITH YOU!

Good for you...

You do realise that this will never get on the big screen, right?

Nexus, Telling {NK}Dark^Helmet that it won't work is like trying to explain what a nuclear missile is to george bush jnr, nigh on impossible,
As i have said before, I will not work Unless you're mel brooks, Otherwise Forget it! It WILL NEVER WORK
NEVER
LIsten to the voice of Isanity!

Ok ...

NK, look at me. Sit down, and listen. Sit back, and I'll tell you something that's very important, that you won't like, but you will need to hear.

Are you ready? Good.

If you do write that script, and do find a way to get it to MGM (if they're still going, it's all 20th Fox and Paramount and New Line these days), and do send it off ... they will throw it in the bin.

Oh, they may read it, and they may like it - but they'll chuck it nonetheless. And why? I'll tell you.

1 - Movie sequels are very very rarely written by Ordinary Joes. They're written either by the original screenwriter or by a studio-approved member of the Screenwriter's Guild. I doubt you are a member of the Screenwriter's Guild.

2 - Spaceballs was made in 1987. It is now 2003. None of the original stars / crew members will want a sequal, I believe, as they have all moved on to pastures new. Do you REALLY think Bill Pullman will want to play Lone Starr again?

and 3 - Are you and your friend as funny as Mel Brooks? Doubtful. No offense, but even if there was the REMOTEST possibility of a Spaceballs sequel - it would be Mel Brooks writing it. Or, worst case scenarion, reading your script and ripping it off without giving you the credit you deserve.

Take my advice, NK - learn the electric guitar. Join a rock band. Become a megastar. It's much easier.

Actually you might get away witha highlander script, the films make no sense even when played in order, so an extra fanbased one won't make much differnce,

A Prequel Might work

With all the prequels Star Wars is putting out a Mel Brooks prequel might be a good fit. It could enlist new actors, if needed.

A prequel would make more sense anyway. I can only imagine a young "Anakin" styled Dark Helmet. Big heads = hilarious.

That WOULD be good.

They need to make fun of the earlier movies, definitely. I wish Mel Brooks would make either that, or a parody of The Matrix....I don't think he ever did one of The Matrix...couldn't have...

Re: SPACEBALLS Episode II: The Search for more money

Everything posted on IMDB.com has to be taken with a grain of salt considering it posts anything and everything rumored. Until Brooks and a film company states it's coming. Now I've read an article interviewing Brooks that says he's making it, but still, not holding breath.
