Wings of Honnemaise
Anyone seen this? If not - go and rent / buy now!
Plot: Country on brink of war with neighbours rushes to get a man into space, but the space agency is not quite NASA and the space program is laughable. Beautifully animated story, gorgeous music, astoundingly developed characters (for cartoons), and some great imagery. I put this in my top 3 anime/manga (along with "Akira" and "Ghost in the Shell"). Don't expect fast-paced action - this is more like "The Right Stuff" than "Armageddon", with characterisation far more important than action. |
